The Dorchester Celebrations Committee will be celebrating
the 373rd Anniversary of the Landing Day observance. Festivities will begin
at 10 A.M. at Savin Hill Beach. Special Guest Speaker will be Congressman
Stephen Lynch. We hope to see you there.
Spring Reminders...
The DPW will be rolling out the street cleaning sweepers in April.
Daylight Savings begins on Sunday April 6th.

April 30 (3-5 PM): Spring Scavenger Hunt - Can you find
it in The Library? Ages 8-15. Two levels of difficulty. Prizes and refreshments!!!.
Tuesdays in April & May, 10:30 AM - Toddler Story Time. Ages 1 ½ -4. Limited enrollment.
Pre-registration required. Readings and fun activities!
April is Poetry Month - Poetry Readings - TBA- Call the Library (617-265-0139) for more
schedule information. These readings will be appropriate for children of all ages!

Boston Neighborhood Licensing Rabies Clinics
Sponsored by the City of Boston Animal Control, Thomas M. Menino, Mayor &
the Animal Rescue League of Boston.
Rabies Vaccination - $5 ($2 for seniors)
If you bring your current unexpired rabies certificate, you will get a 3
year rabies vaccination for the animal at the same price.
City of Boston License Fees:
• Dogs: $17
• Neutered & spayed dogs: $6
Cats must be transported in carriers. Dogs must be leashed at all times.
Dogs that may be dog aggressive should wear a muzzle.

Mothers' Resources
Nurturing Program - Parenting Classes
This free program is sponsored by Dorchester Cares meeting one night a week
for 15 weeks in the Dorchester (Adams St.) area. Day care and dinner are

Seasonal Yard Waste Collection
The DPW will collect on the first four Saturdays in May. Place your yard
waste on the curb by 7 AM. Acceptable waste includes: Leaves, weeds, grass,
hedge trimmings and brush. No trash! Please do not use plastic bags -
paper leaf bags or open trash barrels only! For info call 617-635-4959
CSHCA Courtesy Request:
The CSHCA requests that all cell phones and beeper/pagers be turned off
during our monthly general meetings. Also, as a matter of courtesy, please
take your personal conversations outside the meeting hall.

CSHCA Membership Voting Rights- IMPORTANT
You must be a paid member 30 days in advance of our General Meetings in
order to cast a valid vote.
CSHCA Food Drive Collection
At our March 3rd General Meeting we will again be collecting nonperishable
food-stuffs to benefit the Little House Food Pantry. Items such as soups,
pasta, sauces and cereals would be most appreciated by local families
in need. Please contribute to this effort ! Thank
you !!!
Parade & Celebrations Committee
Annual Celebrations Kickoff Dinner
March 27th 6:30 P.M. at the First Parish Church Hall. $8 per person... pay at the door.
Parade Raffle
Tickets are $100 each and can be purchased up until April 24th when there will be a banquet at the

Newsletter Submissions
Do you have something that you would like to share in "The Neighbors"? We
welcome all "appropriate submissions". Letters to the Editor, op-ed's, write-ups
about a neighborhood event, local announcements ...etc. Please keep your
written text on the short side (recommended: several paragraphs 1/2 to 2/3
of a page) and single spaced. We reserve the right to edit all submissions
for clarity or due to space constraints.

CSHCA Membership Renewal/Application for Membership
Please keep current with your annual membership dues if you wish to remain
as a voting member in good standing and continue to receive a copy of this
newsletter, "The Neighbors". NOTE: Check the mailing address label
for your membership expiration date!!! Many of our memberships run out in
December. It would be greatly appreciated if your memberships were to be
renewed early.
CSHCA Annual Memberships are only $5 per person.
