SUPER 88
I am happy
to report that both So. Bay & Super88 have finally met to work on the
proposal shown at the October mtg. The committee is also requesting the
Boston Police to supply Police coverage at the Mass. Ave & Allstate
Rd. intersection for the upcoming Holidays. I hear many complaints about
the danger of the Sup88 driveway, but at the last meeting not one member,
other than the abutters and the McCormack Civic. Our meetings are open
to all. ~Joe Chaisson
GUEST COMMENTARY
To all members
living near "T" stations:
I drive a
school bus throughout the City of Boston. As I pass many "T" stations,
I observe many signs "Restricted parking for residents only from 8 AM to
8 PM -Monday to Friday" which deter outsiders from using our streets as
their private garage. I will be dammed if I will shovel a spot in front
of my house on Savin Hill Ave. for an outside commuter to park in.
I think it
is about time we get with the times and get these signs up in our neighborhoods
around Savin Hill & JFK "T" stations. ~Anthony Coyne

PLANNING COMMITTEE REPORT
The Planning
Committee was busy in preparation for the November General Meeting.
Thomas Bray from 1023 Dorchester Avenue once again presented plans for many units in the building that he has been ordered to return to its approved use as a single family. This was unacceptable and Mr. Bray was asked to come back when he puts together a more acceptable plan.
Also, Arthur Donovan appeared to present preliminary plans for "Charlie Donovan's" to be located at the old Rock Hill. After much debate, the Planning Committee decided to let the issue go directly to the General Membership. There, the vote was to support the petition for an entertainment license and to extend the closing time to 1 AM.
