Nourish the Children
(not CSHCA sponsored or endorsed)
Nourish the Children is the non-profit division of a very profitable company, NS Enterprises. It is about social entrepreneurship. The concept is a lot of people do a little bit. The idea behind it came from First Harvest International that was then bought by NSE. The idea is this ~ when the economy is strong, people tend to give generously to charity, and when times are tight, they are more cautious with their money. Yet, the problems persist. So, how do you create a win/win? This is a chance for people to be a social entrepreneur without leaving their jobs. When you donate and reach a certain level of contribution (minimum $100), you get an incentive rebate. If you find others to do the same, then your rebate increases. This way people can do good in the world and still pay the gas bill, especially if they spread the word.

What you purchase with your donation is one bag of food, or 30 child sized meals. This costs $29.95. If you donate two bags, or 60 meals, that is subsidized by NSE, and costs $39.95. People can do a one time donation or go on monthly debit (as I do ~ I do 2 bags a month. That feeds one child 2 meals a day) All administration costs are covered by NSE. All shipping costs are covered by Feed the Children, who do the distribution. There is built into the price the cost of manufacture of the food, enough to cover the incentive rebates, AND a SMALL profit (all of which goes to build manufacturing facilities in other countries, such as Malawi and China ~ so that we can support the local economy and also lower the cost of production and therefore the cost of donation). So, it's sort of "for profit" but not exactly.

There is more information at http://dorothymanning.my-ntc.com and at www.ntcresources.com, where there is a 12 minute NTC video which shows an overview. I would be happy to answer any questions. Phone: 617-929-1065 email: dorothymanning@mypharmanex.com
