The Friends of the Edward Everett Schoolyard will be having an important meeting on Wednesday, March 8th from 6-8pm in the auditorium of the Edward Everett School located at 71 Pleasant St. The discussion will be on the upcoming Rock the Night fundraiser scheduled for Saturday, May 13th as well as the Spring Festival scheduled for Saturday, June 10th.

* Dorchester Day Parade Committee *
The next Parade Committee meeting will be held on March 20th at 7 PM at the Comfort Inn, 900 Morrissey Boulevard (across from Stop & Shop). Come have a cup of coffee and get involved with the 2006 Dorchester Day Parade planning.



Mayor of Dorchester Contest
The Committee is looking for Mayor of Dorchester candidates that will help raise needed funds for the June 4, 2006 parade. Come to the next Dorchester Day Parade Committee meeting on March 20th to declare your intentions of running for Mayor. Dorchester Day Celebrations Annual Kick-off Meatloaf Dinner
The dinner will be held on Thursday, March 30th at 6:30 PM at the First Parish Church on Meetinghouse Hill. The dinner will also include entertainment from Michael Pratt. Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for kids and can be purchased at the door. For additional information please contact: 617-287-0085.



Dorchester Parade 10K Drawing
The Dorchester Parade Committee is selling tickets for the Annual 10K Drawing. Tickets are $100 each and includes dinner the night of the drawing. The drawing will be held on Thursday, April 27th at Florian Hall. This popular event is the primary source of funding for the Dorchester Day Parade so please consider purchasing a ticket. CSHCA Meeting Childcare
We offer free childcare at our general meetings for members and guests. Please bring along any personal items your child may need. Do come a few minutes early so that your child can settle in. Childcare attendant: Diana Michta.



The Little House Food Pantry
At our monthly meetings we collect non-perishable foods, toiletries and household cleaning items to donate to the Little House Food Pantry. We have a collection area at the sign in desk.

Boston Partners in Education
Who are we? Boston Partners in Education is a non-profit organization that helps to organize and manage tutoring for students in Boston Public Schools. Currently we are in some Dorchester elementary schools, as well as Dorchester High, and in surrounding neighborhoods. Our group is in search of volunteer tutors to work with these students.

Volunteer Opportunity Areas: Boston Partners in Education is the city's premier leader in school volunteerism, having partnered with Boston Public Schools for 40 years. Training and placement will be provided by Boston Partners. Join this proven program and be a vital part of a student's success story!
