Ryan Playground Coffee Hour with Mayor Menino. The Boston Parks and Recreation Department, are thrilled to announce a new site for Mayor Menino's 7th Annual Neighborhood Coffee Hours. The new Coffee Hour will take place Tuesday, May 24, 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at the Ryan Play Area located on Dorchester Avenue at the corner of Harbor View Street.



50 / 50 Raffle
The CSHCA runs a 50/50 raffle at each of our general meetings. Tickets are only $1 each and three for $2. Raffle tickets can be purchased at the front desk when signing in. The winning ticket will be drawn at the conclusion of the meeting. Please participate and good luck!!!

Do you have you something that you'd like to share in "The Neighbors"? We welcome all appropriate submissions. Letters to the Editor, write-ups about a neighborhood event, local announcements, committee reports...etc. Please keep your written text on the short side, several paragraphs in length, and single spaced. Mayor Menino's 7th Annual Neighborhood Coffee Hour
Join the Mayor and the Boston Parks and Recreation Department on May 10th at the Martin Playground, Hilltop and Myrtlebank Avenue, between 9:30 and 10:30 A.M. 21st Annual Savin Hill Clean Up
Put Saturday, April 30th from 9 AM to 3 PM on your calendars.(Rain date: Sunday, May 1st) It's amazing how much better the park looks from just one day's effort! If you can spend an hour or two cleaning up Savin Hill Park contact Bill Walczak at wwalczak@codman.org or call 617-822-8184. We are in need of captains to cover various parts of the park and volunteers to take on the clean up of the beach. Join us!

Yard Waste Collection - Spring
The City of Boston will be collecting seasonal yard waste on the first four Saturdays in May. Types of waste collected: leaves, grass, clippings and brush. Place your yard waste curbside by 7 AM. Use large paper bags or open barrels only. Sticks and brush must be twined up if outside bag/barrel. No soil, plastic bags or household trash will be collected!



WBOS Earth Fest 2005
WBOS will sponsor this annual event on Saturday, April 30th in celebration of Earth Day. Enjoy good food, music and others at this all day event on the Esplanade.



Boston Shines at The Edward Everett School
Adult volunteers are needed to help with projects on Friday, May 6th from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM at the school, 71 Pleasant Street. Projects include grouting the mosaic at the front of the school, repainting the world map at the back and general yard work all around the school. Hazardous Waste Day - Heads UP
The City of Boston will be holding this collection event at UMass on Saturday, June 18th from 9 AM to 2 PM. Plan on getting there early that day for line of cars leading up to the drop off point can get long. Proof of Boston residency is required. No commercial waste will be accepted.

We will list all Merchant Members each month in our newsletter. Funds will be used towards neighborhood improvement projects/activities.

At our monthly meetings it is requested that all members and guests please exercise courtesy by turning off all beepers, pagers and cell phones. We also ask that any sidebar conversations be taken outside of the meeting room. Thank you.



CSHCA Meeting - Childcare Offering
At our general meetings we offer free childcare for our membership and guests. Please bring along any personal items that your child may need during the course of the evening. It is advised that you arrive on the early side to give your child some time to adjust and settle in. Our childcare attendant for this year is Sylvi Naci.



The Little House Food Pantry
At our monthly meetings the CSHCA collects non-perishable food, toiletries and household cleaning items to donate to The Little House Food Pantry. We place a collection basket at the sign in desk. Thanks so much !!!



Dorchester Recycling Coalition
To receive your FREE blue recycling bin or for more information about how to recycle call (617) 635-4959.
