Dianne Lescinskas

Purpose

The committee will promote all aspects of safety in the area including road and traffic safety, pedestrian and bike safety, crime, fire safety, unruly gatherings, illegal or suspicious behavior, wild animal concerns, personal safety, and weather-related emergencies. The committee will aspire to involve civic members from all areas of the CSHCA district to participate in committee meetings and report on safety issues in their section of the community. The committee will discuss and work towards solutions on all safety concerns raised and will research options for resources and actions to address these specific concerns. The committee will connect and work with community leaders, police, elected officials, and community safety programs. The committee will act as a support network and a liaison for resources. The committee will promote the city’s crime watch program and will be proactive in distributing current contact information for local safety authorities to the community. The committee will connect with the planning committee if any safety issues or concerns are raised regarding any developments in the CSHCA area. The committee will establish a presence on various social media and the CSHCA website in order to keep members updated on meetings, events, and happenings in the area. The Safety Committee will meet upon request via Zoom on the third Tuesday of the month.

Slow Down Campaign

Columbia-Savin Hill urgently needs city and state intervention for speed and safety concerns. With many schools, families, and kids in our community, we must calm traffic and improve parks. Let’s make the neighborhood safe for everyone, particularly our children. Neighbors can help by calling 311, reinforcing safe driving, and joining upcoming Safety Committee meetings.
